Name: Amamiya Rika (Amamiya is the surname. I just followed the traditional order of saying the japanese name xD)
Age:15
Height/Weight: Height - 5'3", Weight - 100 lbs
Puella Group: Elsa Maria
Job: Unemployed,goes to Mitakihara High School. Lives off the money provided by her father Kazune.
Weapon: Scythe. The pole/staff part of the weapon is longer than it looks on the picture. The pink blade can produce white/pinkish fire.

)Personality:
Likes: good humor,internet shopping,music, star gazing, books on magic on occulitsm (quite ironic that she becomes a puella later on,don't you think?), Shin-kun, sweets,coco, witch hunting,extreme weather, spontaneity,spicy food, drawing and spending time with her Puella comrades.
Dislikes: witches,injustice,people with give up easily,eggplants,bitter food of all sorts,girls who try to hit on Shin-kun, Kyuubey (she will never admit it,but he gives her the creeps), routine like lifestyle
Backstory: From the beginning everything was going quite well in Rika's life. Her family was well known throughout Japan.Her father being the famous,genius composer Amamiya Kazune. Her biological mother died of complications in birth and Kazune re-married. Rika's step mother is Sayuri a popular opera singer. Rika also had a half-brother Takeru who was 4 years younger than her.
Even despite the fact that her parents had little time to spend with their children,they were a happy family and everything stayed that way until Rika was 10 years old.
It was the usual routine. Her parents were away giving a concert in Kyoto,leaving Rika and her brother in the care of a babysitter. Takeru had been acting strange the entire day which hadn't gone unnoticed by Rika. The usually happy and cheerful Takeru, seemed somewhat detached and acting mean to Rika,even going so far as to break her favorite stuffed animal.
Upset she sought comfort in the babysitter's presence. Once Rika had calmed down,the babysitter convinced her to try and go make up with her brother. Rika agreed and the two went back to the playroom only to find Takeru standing on the ledge of the window. Horrified and shocked by her little brother's actions she tried stop him,but he only offered her a wicked smile before taking a dive from 4th floor. The last thing she noticed was the strange symbol on his neck that hadn't been there before. (yes,a witch's kiss >:U)
That was Rika's first indirect encounter with a witch,an event that changed her life forever. The parents did not take the death of their son well,especially Takeru's mother.
Blinded with sorrow and pain,she accused Rika of not being there when her brother needed her the most and became bitter towards the poor girl. This lead to numerous fights in the household.Things were never the same again.
Soon a divorce followed and Rika moved away with her father to Mitakihara Town. Her father Kazune dedicated himself to work more and more,trying to forget the tragic event of losing his son. While he knew it wasn't Rika's fault and never blamed her, their relationship was growing more distant with each trip he made.
Years passed and despite all the tragedy in her life,she retained a humorous personality and positivity,a trait that remains with her even now. Her best-friend and (later on her love interest) is her classmate Kurogane Shinta. The two have a very strong,special bond and he is the person most important to Rika.
Rika's second encounter with the unnatural was when she had just turned 15. Kyuubey suddenly appeared before her and had been hanging around her trying to get her to become a Puella Magi and while Rika was always fascinated by magic and such she hesitated,not fully trusting the creature. However shortly after Kyuubey had made an appearance in her life she noticed an odd pattern in Shinta's behavior. She recognized the signs,he was acting like her deceased brother Takeru and even had the same mark on him.
When she confronted Kyuubey the other explained her the details of a witch's kiss and what it does to the victim. Kyuubey told her that she could prevent this from happening if she made a contract with him and became a Puella Magi. Afraid that the tragedy would repeat itself again and not wanting to lose Shinta,she agreed and made her wish.
She saved Shinta from his fate,thus defeating her first witch. After the battle Shinta regained consciousness not fully understanding what happened. He had not found out about Rika saving his life and does not know that she's a Puella Magi.
At the moment Rika lives in Mitakihara Town still,attending 9th grade at Mitakihara High School with Shinta.She lives in her father's mansion with a few housemaids and lives off the money that her father provides her with.
((LMAO. Sorry for the long and incredibly boring background story XDDDD )
Additional:
- Likes fashion,but does not obsess over it and likes to experiment with different styles
- Very protective of her friends and those close to her
- Her Puella Magi outfit might be a manifestation of her interest in magic and occultism itself.
- The scythe can also be used for flying. Think of it as a 'broom' with an engine.
- Many of her attack names are said in Latin.
